The Loctite brand is known for its metal adhesives. This type of glue is used for thread locking, surface sealing and cylindrical fixings.

This metal glue is available in different colors: purple, blue, red and green.

Purple is for moderate strength, blue is for medium strength, Red is almost permanent and Green is especially suitable for reinforcing parts that are already stuck.

Loctite 222 (purple)

Low strength thread locker, general purpose.

Recommended for low strength securing of set screws, countersunk screws and set screws. Can also be used on less strong materials such as aluminum or brass where breakage could occur during disassembly.

Loctite 242 (blue)

Medium strength threadlocker. Suitable for all metals, including passive materials (for example: Stainless steel, aluminum, surface treated materials). Tolerates light contamination of industrial oils, such as: motor oil, anti-corrosion oils and cutting oils. Prevents components from loosening due to vibration, for example: pumps, gearboxes or presses.

Recommended when disassembly with hand tools is required.

Loctite 262 (red)

Medium to high strength thread locker for universal use.

Must be released with heat. (minimum 550 ° F or 290 ° C)

Fluoresces under UV light to enable control. Ideal for applications where every movement of the glue must be prevented. Resistant to light pollution from industrial oils.
